"Pinocchio" - is a performance based on the famous story of a wooden puppet, called Pinocchio, whose originator and creator was Carlo Lorenzini, an Italian writer and journalist, born almost two hundred years ago.  Carlo, Pinocchio's godfather, is better known around the world by his nickname - Collodi - which is the name of the Tuscan town where his mother was born.  The extraordinary story of Pinocchio began in 1880, when Carlo Collodi began writing the story "Storia di un burattino" ("Stories of the puppet"), also known as "Le avventure di Pinocchio" ("The Adventures of Pinocchio"), published in the weekly "Il Giornale  dei Bambini ”- the first

 Italian children's newspaper.

Thanks to the theater "Arka" them.  Renata Jasińska, Pinocchio wandered to the Wrocław Old Town, curious about who he would meet here.  The performance of the "Ark" theater is an invitation to a magical journey through time and space, which each of us takes at least once in our lives, and the lucky chosen ones never give up on it.  It is a journey to the world of dreams and desires shared by "little spiders", but also a journey to the world of their fears, "fears and remorse."  It is a journey to own alterego.  The journey that we make - consciously or not - every night, marked both by fleeting dreams, mysterious spells, magic formulas, and fears and childhood fears that continue to visit us despite the passage of years.

The story of a wooden puppet turned boy, but also a puppet and a donkey along the way, is a story of each of us that can be told

a five-year-old child and a hundred-year-old man (also a child ...).  It is for this simple reason that the story of Pinocchio is universal.  In our performance, both types of characters who are archetypes of the greedy, the sage, the child and Death emphasize this universalism;  as well as the transmission of the story itself - directed both to the little boy and his grandfather.

It is also emphasized by songs woven into the puppet's story, commenting on his adventures and dreams.  Dreams that many of us share, which seems to confirm the chorus of one of the songs:

I did not want to be a donkey, but to be a beautiful boy,

He goes with girls and knows how to drink wine.

I loved the colorful life and its wine taste,

I did not want to be plagued by a freak - a circus gentleman.

Who among us does not dream of "a colorful life with the taste of wine"?

Beloved, let's make a toast to Pinocchio and his wonderful dad, Dżeppetta, even if it were a toast filled with strawberry juice, flavored

strawberry - because - why not?  A joint feast will be facilitated by the fact that we all form the same community on both sides of the proscenium.

a small town, called Earth, whose inhabitants invariably have the same joys and problems, sorrows and hopes ...
